You can also spread the cost of a prepayment certificate over 10 months by direct debit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The quickest and easiest way to buy or renew a Prescription Prepayment Certificate<\/a> is online via the NHS website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you need extra help, you can call 0300 330 1341.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In England, certain groups of people do not have to pay for NHS prescriptions (prescriptions are normally free for everyone in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Patients in England can get free prescriptions if you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you receive benefits, you may be eligible for free prescriptions, but it’s important to check your eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can get free prescriptions – including NHS dental care – if you receive:<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you\u2019re pregnant or have had a baby in the last 12 months, you\u2019re entitled to free NHS prescriptions with a maternity exemption certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can also use this certificate whilst pregnant to prove your entitlement to free NHS dental treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The easiest way to get a maternity exemption is to use the digital maternity exemption service.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n You are also entitled to free prescriptions if you have a specific medical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The included conditions for a medical exemption certificate<\/a> are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n You need to speak to a GP to apply for a medical exemption certificate.
