Repeat Prescriptions

There are different ways to request a repeat presciption. Please allow 2-3 working days for us to process prescription requests before you collect them.

You can also nominate a pharmacy to have your prescription sent to directly.

The NHS App

The quickest and easiest way to request a repeat prescription is through the NHS App.

Available for all smartphones, the free NHS app lets you order a repeat prescription in a few easy steps at any time, with no need to call the practice.

You can also use the NHS App to book appointments, get advice, views your records and more.

Through our website

If you have signed up to use our online service through EMIS, then you can also send a request that way.

As well as medication details and issue dates, you can also nominate a pharmacy to collect  your prescription. This can be a more convenient option than coming to the practice.

If you have not yet signed up for our online services, please speak to the Reception team to get access.

By Telephone

You can request a prescription by calling 01234 567 8910. We are open Closed today today. Please be aware that our phone lines may be busy at certain times – especially early in the morning.

In-Person

Visit us at Digital First GP and speak to the Reception Team. Please bring the repeat prescription form part of our last prescription.

Questions about your Prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you would like to speak to someone at the BASE GP PRACTICE about your prescription:

Through the NHS App, you can nominate a pharmacy to have your prescriptions send to directly.

If you are away from home, you can use the NHS App to create a prescription barcode, which you can use to collect your medication anywhere.

As well as dispensing medicine, your local pharmacist can help you with a range of common illness, including such as coughs, colds, sore throats, ear infections and aches and pains. This is called Pharmacy First
